The existing covered space did not allow the homeowner the ability to enjoy their backyard the way they desired. It was just too small.
The space we created really expanded their home. In order to build the new roof line, we had to remove 3 of the existing upstairs windows. This was necessary in order to get the proper pitch for the larger covered area. On the inside, where the windows were, we created art nooks.
A creative way to incorporate a fire feature was to create 2 fire pits in the seating walls that bordered the outside. A great way to define the space as well as keep things nice and warm during the winter months.
The ceiling is a coffered ceiling using tongue and groove painted pine and beams that have been wrapped in hardie and painted. The flooring is 12X48 paver tiles from Turkey that look like wood. The wood grain look was computerized onto them. They have a nonslip finish and are perfect for areas near a pool.
This outdoor kitchen and bar area is the perfect place to spend the afternoon. The kitchen has a tile back splash, custom vent hood cover over a ventahood liner, custom cabinets that house the wireless electronic system, and is equipped with an RCS grill, stainless drawers, doors and outdoor rated refrigerator. The stone fascia matches the columns and seating walls.
This design was created to allow for a wide open view of the pool and back yard as well as to create a grand entrance to the backyard from the home.
