Freestanding Loaded Pool Cabana

Completed February, 2015

The homeowners desired a freestanding pool house that would be designed to complement the pool and the home. They had a limited amount of space, but still wanted to include a bathroom, kitchen and living area complete with a fireplace. The age of the home made it difficult to match the existing brick, so a smooth stucco finish was chosen to complement the home.

Exterior Finishes

The stucco finish allowed for a modern look while keeping in line with other homes in the neighborhood. Many of the other homes have also gone with stucco finishes. The stucco, along with the travertine tile kept the project simple and clean. Curtains were installed to allow for some privacy or to block late afternoon sun.

Outdoor Kitchen

The tiled wall in the kitchen area adds a subdued pop of color.

Fireplace

The cast stone fireplace surround blends well with the stucco walls.

A Final Look

Details inside the pool house include a vaulted wood ceiling to keep it feeling natural and spacious. The homeowners wanted to make sure they could use their pool house year round, so heaters were installed to take the chill off on those nights when the temperature dropped.
