The before shot of this home shows the space as a typical Houston backyard with trees and a small patio outside the back door.
The new view from the back door… quite a different look. A large scale cedar pergola was added off the back of the home and a fully covered outdoor living space was added off the side of the garage.
The homeowner wanted to incorporate both a water feature and a fire feature in this space. The water features were placed at the ends of the built in seating benches so they aren’t in the way, but certainly add to the ambiance of the area. The gas fire pit is the centerpiece of this area. A perfect place to sit outside on an evening to enjoy the night air.
A great space to hang out with the custom-built wood burning fireplace.
This custom outdoor kitchen is 22 linear feet and is equipped with a large 42″ RCS grill, storage drawers, refrigerator and vent hood. The granite is Onyx and the back splash/wall is finished in tile. The 2 windows along the wall provide for additional ventilation.
The flooring is a non-slip porcelain tile. The stone on the fascia of the kitchen, garage wall, fireplace and the columns is Windsor platinum chop. The fans are Big Ass Haiku outdoor fans.
In building the patio cover, we had to keep it within the limits of the yard without removing any trees. This space was designed with that in mind. The new outdoor living areas fit perfectly in the flow of the yard. The pergola is 500 SF and the patio cover is 400 SF.
