December Project of the Month: Adding Space for a Growing Family

December, 12, 2024

One of our specialties at TCP is taking a family’s needs and incorporating them into a custom outdoor living space that matches the style of the home. It’s especially apparent in our December Project of the Month: A 460SF custom covered patio that looks original to the house but turns the backyard into a multifunctional space for everyone to enjoy the backyard–even the dog!

BEFORE PICTURE:

The Original Client Vision

Through our initial consultation, we learned that the client’s wishlist included an outdoor kitchen and a fireplace with room for a large outdoor dining area. Happily, we were able to deliver everything the homeowners wanted.

The Custom Outdoor Solution

The current paver patio was removed and a new concrete patio was poured. New tile flooring was installed over the concrete to bring a smooth and clean look for the new space.

A covered patio with a gable was built to match the finishes of the home. Painted white brick on everything from the columns to the fireplace to the outdoor kitchen creates a fresh and cohesive look.

For the custom gas fireplace, we chose a herringbone insert to add visual interest with a raised hearth along the front.

The convenient, L-shaped outdoor kitchen includes everything needed to entertain, with a grill, outdoor-rated refrigerator, and more.

Materials Overview:

Flooring: Arenite Avorio 24×36 grip tiles from Thorntree

Ceiling: RealSoffit pre-stained tongue and groove in Smokey Bourbon.

Countertop: Everest 3CM from Instyle Granite and Marble.

Appliances: RCS 38” cutlass pro grill, outdoor rated fridge, and doors and drawers

An Accommodating Backyard Destination for All

Now complete, the homeowners have the space to truly enjoy their backyard. For years to come, it will be a gathering place for celebrating, dining, and enjoying as a family.
